Unbelievable! Meet the world's first HEARTLESS man who is able to live with a machine.

In March of last year, Craig Lewis, 55, was dying from a heart condition that caused build-ups of abnormal proteins, and not even a pacemaker could help save his life.
But two doctors from the Texas Heart Institute proposed a revolutionary new solution – install a ‘continuous flow’ device that would allow blood to circulate his body without a pulse.

Dr Billy Cohn and Dr Bud Frazier installed the device after removing Mr Lewis’ heart. Within a day, the patient was up and speaking with physicians.

Heartless: Craig Lewis, 55, was the first man to have a 'continuous flow' pump to replace his entire heart - and now has no pulse

World’s 12 highest-paid DJs in 2014

Calvin Harris is once again EDM’s Cash King, pulling in $66 million over the past 12 months. The top 10 earners on our list racked up a staggering $268 million this year (2014), 11% more than the $241 million haul of last year’s (2013) top 10. Read on to see the full list.
1: CALVIN HARRIS – $66 MILLIONBorn Adam Richard Wiles, the former grocery store stocker earned $66 million in our scoring period, playing more than 125 gigs. He’s found great success in the pop world, working with the likes of Rihanna and Kesha, which has helped him land headline gigs not only at EDM-focused events but also at festivals like Coachella. Harris continues to play regularly in Las Vegas where he has a multi-year deal at America’s biggest nightclub, Hakkasan.
2: DAVID GUETTA – $30 MILLIONThe former Parisian club manager commands some of the top fees in Las Vegas but stays true to his European roots, maintaining his weekly F**k Me I’m Famous residency in Ibiza. In the past 12 months, he’s spent time on tour with Rihanna and has penned songs for Britney Spears and Lady Gaga on their latest albums. In March, he divorced Cathy Guetta, his wife of 22 years and long-time business partner.
3 (TIE): AVICII – $28 MILLIONJust 24 years old, the Swedish DJ notched the best year of his career on the strength of his debut album, ‘True’. The record included ‘Wake Me Up’, which became the first electronic song ever to move more than 4 million units in the United States. He continues to clean up on the road, taking home six-figure sums every time he spins at a club, which he did 80 times during our scoring period alone.3 (TIE): TIESTO – $28 MILLIONIn recent years, the veteran Dutch DJ has shifted his focus from Ibiza to Las Vegas, where he now has a massively lucrative residency with megaclub, Hakkasan. Playing over 100 shows yet another year in a row, Tiesto has pulled in $60 million over the past 24 months, a total topped only by Calvin Harris.
5: STEVE AOKI – $23 MILLIONFor the first time, Aoki cracks the top five after playing 277 shows in our scoring period. He sometimes plays three shows in a day, and his schedule had almost double the amount of shows of anyone on our list (Aoki tells Forbes he’s mastered the art of the power nap, sleeping in two or three hour bursts while traveling between gigs). He’s also boosted by endorsements with Bud Light, Guitar Center and Scion, and holds a minority stake in headphone company, Sol Republic.
6: AFROJACK – $22 MILLIONNick van de Wall, better known as Afrojack, released his long-anticipated first studio album, ‘Forget The World’ in May. After telling Forbes he turned down higher offers in Las Vegas to stay at the Wynn, he quickly bolted for a residency at Hakkasan. Afrojack played nearly 150 shows in our scoring period; earnings include endorsements from Nike and G-Star RAW, where he has his own clothing collection
7: ZEDD – $21 MILLIONThe 24-year-old protégé of Skrillex is now out-earning his mentor, thanks to a nightly DJ fee that has soared from $20,000 last year into the low six figures. His production for pop stars like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, as well as his own album, ‘Clarity’, which spawned a platinum single of the same name, have fueled Zedd’s rise.
8: KASKADE – $17 MILLIONBorn Ryan Raddon, the DJ’s 10th album, ‘Atmosphere’, earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Album. The father of three played more than 120 dates during our scoring period, including about 30 shows in Las Vegas. Outspoken on Twitter, he’s taken to the microblogging service to bash his former record label and critics of EDM culture
9: SKRILLEX – $16.5 MILLIONIn March, the six-time Grammy winner released his latest album, ‘Recess’, to opening week sales of 48,000. The LP has a long way to go to catch his 2010 smash, ‘Scary Monsters’ and ‘Nice Sprites’, but he doesn’t need record sales to pad his coffers: Skrillex earns big from live shows, scoring films like ‘Wreck-It Ralph’, and from his OWSLA label.
10: DEADMAU5 – $16 MILLIONThe mouse-head costume-wearing DJ barely played one-tenth the amount of shows that some of the higher-ranked names on this list did, but he made them count, playing mostly lucrative festival gigs that can earn him in the neighborhood of half a million dollars for a night’s work. A booming merch business also pads his bottom line.
11: HARDWELL – $13 MILLIONVoted the No. 1 electronic dance music artist in the world by fans in the annual DJ Magazine Top 100 poll, Hardwell debuts on Forbes’ list of top earners. His debut album expected to come out in the New Year. Like fellow Dutch DJs Tiesto and Armin van Buuren, Hardwell operates his own record label, Revealed Recordings, which he founded in 2010. His ‘I Am Hardwell’ tour comes to the U.S. in the fall and will conclude with a November show at Madison Square Garden.
12 (TIE): ARMIN VAN BUUREN -$12 MILLIONThe Dutch DJ spent a great deal of the last year (2013) playing dates in support of his album, ‘Intense’, released in May 2013. His tour included dates in 21 cities and featured six-hour performances from the 37-year-old trance king. He co-founded dance label, Armada Music in 2003, and still helps run the business; last year, he was nominated for a Grammy for best dance recording for ‘This Is What It Feels Like’.12 (TIE): STEVE ANGELLO – $12 MILLIONSwedish House Mafia pulled in $25 million last year (2013) in its swan song as a group, and now its members are earning even more: Steve Angello alone pulled in $12 million. By himself, he still commands six-figure fees for club gigs; he’ll release a new solo album this fall. Will there be a reunion? “Uh, no,” he sa. Culled from Forbes

Why I’m backing Buhari against Jonathan –Sylva

Former Bayelsa State governor, Chief Timipre Sylva, has opened up on why he is backing General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).Sylva, who was speaking in an interactive session with Bayelsans monitored on a radio station, Royal FM based in Yenagoa, said he was working for Buhari in 2015 because Jonathan had failed the Niger Delta people. While noting that he had disowned Jonathan as his brother, he pointed out that the Jonathan Presidency had dashed the hopes of the Niger Delta people. He said the decision to support General Buhari was based on convictions and the need for change in the polity.Sylva stated that he was ready to work for his newly found political friends in the APC than to work for President Jonathan who plotted his downfall from office. His words: “What has Bayelsa gained from the Presidency? Where is the federal project in the state that is significant? I don’t see any. Not even electricity is available in Otuoke. And you have the Presidency. If I have somebody else that is not my brother but a friend with my interest at heart, it is better. Sometimes, a good friend is better than a bad brother. If a good friend can come and give us electricity and good jobs, I will go for that good friend rather than go for that bad brother. Look at Bayelsa. Look at Niger Delta.“Look at the East-West Road under a brother. Why hasn’t the road been fixed under a brother? Why is the Brass LNG not working under a brother because we know where the project was under Obasanjo? Why is it that all they promised us under Amnesty has not been fulfilled? You remember they promised us a new city. Where are those small cities under our brother? Is there any serious institution established here to empower our youths to give them skills? Where is the institution built in Bayelsa. Nothing has been done. What has been done is that their cronies have bought some private jets. Is that what Bayelsa is about? Is that what Niger Delta Presidency is about? We all fought for this power but certain people have hijacked it.”He broke his silence on what caused the political feud between him and President Jonathan leading to his being barred from contesting the PDP governorship primaries.According to him his refusal to complete the controversial Tower Hotel in the state led Jonathan to move against him.Sylva, who declared that the project was a waste, alleged that his refusal to do President Jonathan’s bidding on the project cost him his job as governor. He said he could not understand why billions of naira would be spent on the hotel project which would not benefit Bayelsans.

Comedian Bovi recounts his encounter with a Prostitute

I had just resumed school for second semester 300 level. This was February 2000. My mission was to storm port-harcourt from abraka and surprise my older sister who had just moved to another apartment. All I had was the address to the new apartment. I’ve always loved to pull surprises and this was my biggest one at the time. I arrived ph in the evening via public transport and traced her new place.Me wey plan to surprise my sister con surprise myself. She had not moved in. Her present address, I didn’t have. Gsm; non-existent at the time, her office? Closed. I was practically stranded in the garden city. After recovering from my rude shock, I took the first 2 foolish decisions. I hailed a cab and told the can to take me to a happening joint. The type that runs all night. He told me it was a Tuesday, the happening joints really don’t happen on Tuesday. I insisted there had to be one.Well he had money to make, so he obliged me. We got there. Dead end. Even the band members and the Dj were off duty. We tried a second spot. No luck. By this time it was past 9pm. So it dawned on me that I should have been looking for a hotel. By the time I checked 2 hotels, I realized that had I not made wayward stops, I’d have been able to pay for a room. Think Bovi, think! I asked again where I could possibly chill till daybreak.A commercial nerve. Someone mentioned “opposite hotel presidential.” When I got to hotel presidential; opposite it that is; I was relieved. The groove was real. Outdoor joints, several bar tenders. Pot bellied men with pretty women drinking away their stress. I found my spot, got a seat, weighed my purse and saw that my vex money had been severely eroded. I couldn’t even afford a drink. But hey, I could watch. The ladies of the night were present on their droves( soliciting customers). It was a sight to behold. Of they got lucky, they hopped into vehicles of strange men. I enjoyed all I saw until it was midnight and the unexpected happened. All d joints started to lock up. On no time it was just me and the night nurses left on the road side. To be contd” “Why you no go stay hotel” “why you no go your sister house” “why she Neva pack go her new house?” I had answered all these questions repeatedly. By now I was with the security of the hotel, begging to share their space with them till the earliest signs of daylight. They weren’t comfortable with me there. They had even suggested I go to ojuelegba, a spot on the famous Aba road that hosted a retinue of low class sex workers (low in the sense that the better sex workers were the ones who came opposite the hotel) I had turned down the idea politely.Five minutes later, a police patrol can sailed by slowly with “victims” of their raid of ojuelegba. I didn’t believe my luck, assuming it was luck. Not long after, one of the busiest girls of the night walked into the security post. I had seen her severally that night. She had to be the busiest of the girls. Leave in a car, return in okada. That happened at least 4 times.she inquired what the problem was. For the 66th time, I narrated. She paused for a while. I had no idea what she was thinking. Then quietly she asked to see the contents of my bag. Two shirts, one trouser, soap can with blue long sponge and body cream. And identity card. Finish! She thought for a while again and then made me an offer. She asked me to follow her to her apartment. I wasn’t sure what to do. Security didn’t want me there. From their eyes I could tell this was my last offer. She “napkined” on the bike ride to her house. This was 2am. A small living room and a room with one bed ms living room was as small as the room. It had no furniture. She offered me her bed and slept on the floor. I tries to refuse but she will have none of it. I was her guest.I don’t know if I really slept cos my legs remained on the floor with. Y back on d bed. By5 am I was up. She offered me water to shower but all I did was brush and wash my face. Her brother came in not long after without caring a second who I was, he went straight to sleep. As I made to leave, she untied an end of her wrapper, brought out a wad of notes and offered me 3 fifty naira notes. She bade me farewell.Never to be seen again till this day” .

Boko Haram Insurgency Has Given Us Sleepless Nights – Northern Governors' Wives.

The association of wives of state governors from the North, Northern Governors' Wives Forum (NGWF) , Tuesday, declared that its members have been under serious trauma, having sleepless nights since the Boko Haram insurgency began in the region. The governors wives declared that as mothers, they have been particularly worried about the fate of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls since their abduction over nine months ago by Boko Haram gunmen.Led by their chairperson, Mrs. Dooshima Yemisi Suswan, they made their feelings known in Maiduguri where they made donations of relief materials to victims of insurgency in Borno State as part of their N40 million assistance to victims of disaster in the North.Dooshima Suswam, wife of the Benue State governor, led six other members of the forum to Maiduguri for the donation, which they described as their widow's mite to the victims of the insurgency. The others include Hajiya Halima Wada(Kogi), Salamatu Almakura (Nasarawa), Hanatu Ngillari (Adamawa) Jamila Sanni (Taraba), Fatima Yero (Kaduna) and Jummai Babangida (Niger).Speaking at the occasion , the chairperson of the Forum said: “Northern Governor's wives have not been able to sleep well and so we inquired how we may reach and thought it wise to support the effort of your government and well-meaning individuals and organisations to supply our widow's mite.“Silver and gold we have not but that which we have as mothers is food.”She disclosed that the donation was from the proceeds of the launch of the forum's almanac initiatives, adding that four states, including Borno was selected as pilot states. She therefore called on parents not to allow the abductions of Chibok girls to discourage them from enrolling their children in school, saying: “To those who may think of the Chibok girls and further shy away from sending their female child/ward to school, please don't be discouraged, education is still the best empowerment.“The story of the Chibok girls, a major disaster is still fresh and ever since then we have not stopped to pray for them, the families, government and the Federal Government, we shall sustain our prayers as mothers until we get a breakthrough.”In her remarks at the occasion, wife of the Borno State Governor, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima, called on the Federal Government to intensify effort in rescuing the abducted Chibok girls and other people abducted by Boko Haram.Speaking earlier when the forum paid a courtesy visit on Governor Kashim Shettima, the forum chairperson said the aim of their visit is to commiserate with the state government and the entire people of the North East over the numerous lives that have been lost.“We are here to encourage you and to let you know that you are not alone. This struggle and unwanted occurrences in the land takes serious efforts, do not take offence from any quarters, ignore some of their personal disappointments, consider it sacrifices for responsive leadership,” she added.Responding to the goodwill of the Forum, Shettima expressed his gratitude for the gesture, saying he was really touched. The governor said he was confident that Nigeria would continue to remain a single and indivisible entity despite the fears in some quarters. Angelina Jolie talks about Boko Haram attacks.

Actress and UN ambassador, Angelina Jolie has condemned the various attacks by Boko Haram saying,"Each new crime committed by Boko Haram exceeds the last in brutality. This is a direct consequence of the environment of total impunity in which Boko Haram operates. Every time they get away with mass murder, rape and the enslavement of women and children, they are emboldened." She called on the United States government and the rest of the international community to work together so as to "bring the perpetrators of these attacks to justice".
